Recommendation hooks in app ads
What recommendation hooks are
Recommendation hooks frame the ad as a tip from someone who already uses the app: “the app I can’t stop using” or “you need this”. They lean on personal trust.
In the Adlist library, ads with a recommendation hook typically run about 23 seconds, and 63% finish their hook within the first three seconds. They’re most often shot as UGC, talking head and green screen videos. They show up most for Health and Fitness, Education and Social Networking apps.
