Skit hooks in app ads

What skit hooks are

Skit hooks open mid-scene in a short scripted bit, usually a joke about the problem the app solves. The humour earns the first seconds; the app is the punchline.

In the Adlist library, ads with a skit hook typically run about 23 seconds, and 77% finish their hook within the first three seconds. They’re most often shot as UGC, skit and talking head videos. They show up most for Productivity, Lifestyle and Health and Fitness apps.
